This database contains most of the people living in Smithfield when it was incorporated on 29 February 1840. As there was no definitive listing as who was living in town at that time the database has been reconstructed using Census records, State and local vital records and various other sources when they could be verified. A source list is also included. For as many people as possible the birth dates, death dates and places of birth and death have been included. As more information becomes available the database will be updated. UPDATE: 10 July 2017, the database now shows the birth and death dates of the children, if known, on the family group sheets.
